How to Set Up an Ozark Trail Tent
Ozark Trail tents are lightweight and simple to erect. (Image courtesy of Fotolia.com, courtesy of Alice Rawson’s tent in the woods.) Ozark Trail is a brand of tents that is available for purchase at Walmart shops nationwide. Manufacturers of the tents are hired via a number of organizations, the largest of which being North Pole USA. You can set them up in minutes, even if you have never set up a tent before. They are designed for family and casual camping, and as such, they are simple to erect.
Step 1
Make sure that the area where you will be setting up your tent is level and clear of debris or rocks. Clear away any debris that might penetrate the bottom of your tent’s floor.
Step 2
Lay out all of the components of your tent and double-check that each component is present. To set up the tent body, roll it out and place it so that the door is facing the direction you want it to go and the roof is facing upward.
Step 3
To assemble your tent poles, start by putting them together by snapping the nylon portions into the metal tube connections. Stakes should be threaded through the tent pole sleeves, which are sewed into the seams of the tent body to keep them in place. The tent’s poles should be centered such that it mimics a spider’s web.
Step 4
Each pole should be bent into an arch and secured at the corners of the tent at ground level by inserting the tent pole into the pin ring at the top of the tent pole. To give the tent its form, attach the snap-quick clips to the tent poles using the snap-quick clips.
Step 5
Sweep the interior of the tent to remove any dust, dirt, trash, or leaves that have accumulated. Insert stakes into the pin rings at the tent’s foundation corners and hammer them into the ground to secure the tent in place.
Step 6
Wrapping the rain fly around the tent such that the pole sleeve is pointing down against the tent will keep it from becoming caught in the rain. Slide the ridge pole through the pole sleeves until it is completely secure. Flex the ridge pole and insert each end into a grommet that has been included into the rain fly to keep it in place.
Step 7
The S-hooks should be placed in the corners of the rain fly. Pull them all the way down to the tent’s foundation corners and secure them to the pin rings using safety pins. However, the only drawback to this product is the price, which is significantly more than that of comparable products purchased at Walmart. - Let’s talk about your profit margin!
- When it comes to a family of four, this is a no-brainer.
- Super simple to put together, and it’s large.
- Setting it up is rather simple until you get used to the pole joints, which are extremely stiff and need considerable energy to open and shut, and which may rip through the nylon fabric if you are not cautious.
- You must be cautious to place the sleeves back over the pole joints before placing the pole joints back into the bag; otherwise, you risk causing harm to them.

In preparation for camping, we performed some pre-camping at home, and now we can’t wait to get to the campground.
It performed admirably in keeping the rain out, and it was just as simple to set up and take down as the evaluations indicated.
On April 27, 2015, a review was conducted in the United States.
This one is by far the most impressive of the bunch.
I purchased one, and after our first camping trip, my kid insisted that I purchase another for him.
Anyone who has misplaced a tent pole or had to thread a tent pole through those silly small flaps will agree that this tent is a game-changer in their camping experience. Every year, I go on ten or more camping trips and have never been happier.

a rating of 2.0 out of 5 stars There are too many negative attributes about this product to suggest it. On May 19, 2021, Abraham B posted a comment. This tent was just purchased by us. It had a damaged zipper when it came. The first strike has been struck. However, mishaps sometimes happen during shipment, so we proceeded with the tent’s setup as planned. I attempted to set up the tent on my own. The tent poles, like many others, are simple to disassemble and store in a small space. When passing the components through the top fabric guides (thin sleeves) of the tent, however, it proved difficult due to the tent poles’ tendency to come apart and get caught in the fabric.
- The other poles were falling out of their floor pegs at an alarming rate.
- It was a frustrating experience, and I don’t look forward to having to go through it again.
- Strike number two.
- The tent is marketed as being able to accommodate four people.
- I’m 6’5″ tall “and hence cannot be accommodated within the longer internal dimension.
- In addition to the fact that I’m merely lying down on the floor of the tent, Even if the quoted measurements are for the exact outer footprint, a person with a height of 6 feet or more should be able to fit comfortably within something with an 8.5-foot length.
- The third strike has been called.
The zipper was stuck to the fabric and threatened to damage it (due to the effort necessary to close and open the zipper).
I lubricated the zip-a-bit better with additional lube, but it still snags about every 8 inches or so.
In addition, because the tent’s entrance is one of the most crucial components, a large attack is required.
When compared to comparable tents, this tent’s entrance hole is not even sealable (velcro.).
I can already tell that if we use it frequently, the thin cloth will begin to tear.
Even worse, because it’s such a large hole, flying insects may easily enter the tent through it, making the situation even worse.
The fifth strike has been thrown.
As a result, you can easily kneel inside thanks to the high and wide ceiling.
However, if you are higher than 5’9″, “Because the walls slant inward as you walk up, your head and feet are likely to touch the interior walls vertically regardless of your intentions.
Minimally, the electric access port hole must be sealable (in order to prevent bugs from getting in) and the door zipper must operate easily and dependably (in order for you to go in and out without drama). When a product does not perform or breaks quickly, it is not worth it to buy it on the cheap.
Ozark Trail 9 x 7 Tent 3-4 Person Reviews
The tent was reasonably priced and was the only design available at our local Walmart. The mechanism in the main center pole broke down on my fingers as I was attempting to take it down, almost ripping my fingertips off at the joints. It needed the intervention of a bystander for the mechanism to be released. When utilizing these types of tents, please use utmost caution (instant tent). Pros
- It is claimed to hold two queen-sized air mattresses, however it is just enough place for one and a gear bag. Please use great caution while handling the center pole during setup and takedown. Since my own personal experience, I’ve spoken with two other people who have had comparable encounters.
Since then, I’ve spoken with three of my friends who have experienced a similar set of circumstances. Please include a disclaimer on the directions pages to prevent any significant damage to other people from occurring. I’m still having neurological issues with two of the fingers that were injured by the accident. If this occurs to a child or adolescent, it has the potential to become a severe problem. Experience In the past 45 years, I’ve had a number of different tents. For the first time, I purchased a simple to set-up tent.
Purchased at a cost of $110 Lawrence Magnuson and three other people The Ozark Trail 7 x 9 x 59″ 4 Person Tent was delivered on March 27th.
Pros
- Setup is simple
- The product is waterproof. It takes some very powerful gusts to do this
- For me, extreme longevity meant setting up 120-140 days of relatively moderate weather, but enduring all types of weather for around eighteen years
It’s been in my possession for almost 18 years (Ozark Trail 7x9x59″) One fly fastener was ultimately torn off by a 40 mph+ wind yesterday, and the zipper on the D-door was torn off as well. This is a brave tent! More than a dozen states, as well as the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, were targeted for pitching. Waterproofing was only required on a few occasions. It went down on March 27, 2016, after nearly two decades in service. R.I.P.! Purchased it newme2+2 (source) The 28th of December, 2012 Poles are a waste of money since they split after the first usage.
- Excellent work, Mr.
- In addition to over a dozen states, the project was pitched in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
