# How Much Light For A 4X8 Grow Tent

## What size LED light for 4×8 grow tent?

Comments received on August 14, 20200 The technique of determining the size of your LED light is essentially a two-step procedure. First, you must determine the amount of the grow area available, and then you must determine the canopy dimension. People frequently inquire as to how many watts are required for a 4 x 8 grow tent. Keep your eyes peeled for the solution, which will be revealed below! During the FLOWERING STAGET time period You will require an LED light with an output of at least 50W per square foot of growing space in order to achieve a positive yield throughout the flowering season.

This results in a square foot grow space of (4ft x 8ft) = 32 square feet.

The LEDcannabis grow lightbulb size for your 4 x 8 grow tent must be at least 1600W, or you can use a mix of numerous LED grow lights totalling 1600W in order to meet the requirements.

In layman’s terms, if you need 1600W during the blossoming stage, you will require (1600 x 2)W = 800W during the vegetative period.

So, how do you decide which LED grow light to purchase?

## 5 Best LED Light for 4×8 Grow Tent

The most often asked question is “how many led lights are sufficient for a 4×8 grow tent?” Calculating the appropriate size of your lighting fixture is a two-step procedure.

First, you must determine the amount of the grow area available, and then you must determine the canopy dimension. People frequently inquire as to how many watts are required for a 48 grow tent. Keep your eyes peeled for the solution, which will be revealed below!

### During the FLOWERING STAGE

You will need a light with an output of at least 50W per square foot of growing space if you want to generate a good yield of flowers throughout the blossoming time. Your 48 tent is now 4ft long and 8ft wide, making it a square. This results in a square foot grow space of (4ft x 8ft) = 32 square feet. Then multiply this value by 50W: (32 x 50)W = 1600 W. This is the result.

#### So, how much led grow light for a 4×8 tent need at flowering stage?

This implies that your 48 indoor tent will require an LED grow light with a minimum power of 1600W, or you may combine numerous LED lights with a total power of 1600W to accommodate your needs.

### During the VEGETATION STAGE

When compared to the preceding flowering stage, you only require half the amount of power during the vegetative stage. In layman’s terms, if you need 1600W during the blossoming stage, you will require (1600 x 2)W = 800W during the vegetative period.

#### So, how much lights for at veg?

This means that during future vegetative seasons, your grow tent will require an LED grow light with a power output of at least 800W, or you may choose to combine multiple lights with a combined power output of 800W.

## Thoughts of the Final Hour

It’s quite normal to feel a little disoriented when faced with the plethora of enticing options available on the market. And believe us when we say that it occurred to us in our early days as well! A team of researchers spent many days conducting thorough study to discover the ideal led light for a 48 grow tent.

As for lighting up your expanding tent, maybe you will choose the “smarter” option this time. Take your time, read the reviews, and compare the goods you’re interested in. Here’s to a successful harvest season for you!

## Question: What Lights For A 4X8 Tent

People frequently inquire as to how many watts are required for a 4 x 8 grow tent. Keep your eyes peeled for the solution, which will be revealed below! During the flowering time, an LED light with an output of at least 50W per square foot of growing space is required to generate a satisfactory yield. As a result, your 48 grow tent is now 4 feet long and 8 feet broad.

## How many lights do I need in a 4×8 grow tent?

If the floor is 48, then two 600-watt lights should be plenty for the job. If you are going to use three lights, you may wish to use 400 watt bulbs.

## How many watts 4×8 grow tent?

For a 48, I’d use anything from 1200 to 2000 watts, depending on what I had available and whether or not heat was an issue.

## What size LED light do I need for my grow tent?

According to conventional wisdom, you should aim for 32-50 watts per square foot of growing space. If your grow place is a specialized veg tent, you’ll need something closer to 25 watts. Using this example, if you’re dealing with a 3′ by 3′ space, you’d potentially want an LED light with a power demand that ranges between 225 watts (vegetative) to 450 watts (hi-tech) (flowering).

## How many plants can I put in a 4×8 grow tent?

According to how big you want your plants to grow, you should be able to put approximately 15-20 plants in a 48.

## How big of a grow tent do I need for 4 plants?

A rectangular tent shape is the most effective for four plants, and the most typical size is a 44. This provides each plant with around 4 square feet of growth room (or a 22 of the total area). It is really a little less than that, because you want to leave some space between the plants to allow for air circulation. However, this still allows for quite big plants.

## What size LED light for 3×3 grow tent?

In a 3×3 tent, you should aim for 350 watts of power. I would stay away from Amazon’s LED lights. They are either inexpensive and of poor quality, or expensive and of poor quality in some situations. If you’re searching for a light that’s ready to go, 700 is going to be difficult to come by.

## What is the best wattage for LED grow lights?

For blooming medicinal or other large flowering plants, a decent rule of thumb for LED grow lights is 32 watts of real power per square foot of growing space, assuming the plants are flowering.

## How much does it cost to run a 1000W LED Grow Light?

You must multiply your watts by 1,000 to get your wattage (1,000 kilowats in 1 watt). For example, if we were to use a 1000 watt grow light for eighteen hours a day at the kWh rate we mentioned previously, our formula would be: 1 x \$0.1559 x eighteen hours x thirty days = \$84.186/month.

## How many plants can a 1000w LED light grow?

What is the maximum number of plants I can grow? Size of the Growing Area The bare minimum in terms of watts You must be able to grow a minimum number of plants. 3 x 9 ft (9 x 33 foot) 450 watts 1-9 plants* 12 sq ft (34 square meters) 600 watts 1-12 plants* 16 square feet (4 square meters) 800 watts 1-16 plants* 20 square feet (4 x 5) 1000 watts for 1-20 plants*

## How many HPS watts for 3×3 grow tent?

HPS Grow Light Alternative: 250 Watt HPS Grow Light If you have a 3×3 foot grow tent and don’t mind using a non-LED grow light, a 250 watt high pressure sodium (HPS) grow light would be a good option.

## What size grow room for 12 plants?

John, A space of 8’8’x8′ can accommodate 12-16 plants comfortably, however it is a little cramped.

Because of the varying lighting schedules, you may expect to receive approximately four plants if you want to grow fairly large plants indoors. If you want to grow smaller plants indoors, you can expect to acquire about two plants.

## What size carbon filter for 5×5 grow tent?

Table of Carbon Filter Sizes based on Grow Tent Dimensions Size of a Serial Grow Tent Dimensions of the carbon filter 3 5 5 6-inch or larger, or 6″x12″ or 8″x12″ 4 2 2 4-inch 5 4 8 8-inch filter 3 5 5 6-inch or larger, or 6″x12″ or 8″x12″ 6 1010 8-inch filters or an 8’x24′ carbon filter are required.

## What size light for 5×5 grow tent?

For a 5×5 tent, it is advisable to use lights that are around 1000 watts (High-Pressure Sodium). Although HPS lights appear to be yellow in hue, they actually contain color spectrums that are yellow and red. Plants that bloom well in both spectrums are encouraged to do so.

## Should seedlings get 24 hours of light?

In order for your seedlings to develop healthy and robust, it is true that they require enough of bright light, but they also require a time of darkness to survive. They should be left on for 12 to 16 hours a day, depending on the circumstances. Many individuals make the mistake of placing their seedlings under fluorescent illumination 24 hours a day for the whole time they are growing.

## Can you have too much light in a grow tent?

Despite the fact that too much light can be detrimental to plant development, it is also a rather simple problem to resolve. Experts recommend 100 watts of light for a 2 foot by 2 foot grow area and up to 1,000 watts of light for an 8 foot by 8 foot grow area, depending on the size of the grow area.

## How much does a 1000 watt LED yield?

The average output with a single 1000-watt light is around 2 pounds every harvest. Sometimes I weigh less than 1.5 pounds, and other times I weigh more than 2.25 pounds.

## What size LED light for 2×4 grow tent?

While the minimal amount of electricity required to cultivate cannabis in a 2×4 foot grow tent is 40 watts per plant, even the finest grow lights require at least 200 watts for the entire tent.

## How much area does a 1000 watt grow light cover?

When hanging 2 feet above the plants, a 1000 watt grow lamp can illuminate an area of around 7 feet square when suspended 2 feet above the plants. A 400-watt lamp would be sufficient for illuminating an area around 4 feet square.

## What is the best grow light for a 4×8 grow tent?

For the reason why LED lights are typically recommended for grow tents, we will only cover the finest LED grow lights available on the market for your tent. To light a 44 tent, a grow lamp with an actual wattage range of 500-600 watts should be used (assuming blooming plants that demand a lot of light and are collected in a single location).

## How many cars fit in a 5×5 tent?

In a 55 tent, there are nine automobiles.

## How many plants can fit in grow tent?

For this size grow tent, we recommend that you place four full-size plants in it, allowing you plenty of freedom to move about. You can also squeeze 6 in there, but it will be a tight fit. You may also accommodate 16 small-sized plants that will grow to be no more than 2 feet tall in this space.

## LED lights for 8×4 grow tent

There are a variety of alternatives. There are too many possibilities to cover them all. Two HLG550s (\$750 each) would probably be the most secure and reasonably cost option, with the possibility of adding some extra illumination when you add CO2. A few individuals have praised the Growers Choice ROI light that Anthem mentioned above; my local grow store has these, and they have received positive feedback from others. The issue I have is that if I’m going to spend \$1000 on an unknown brand, why not simply purchase the Fluence Spydr 2p or 2i for \$250-\$450 more and save money in the process?

Either of these lights, as well as many other large bar-style lights, would be excellent choices for CO2.

If you don’t want to spend the money on Fluence but can spare \$800-\$1000 per light, the decision between HLG and a bar-style Fluence clone like the ROI becomes more difficult.

In order to spend even less, the alternatives become more limited, since most cheaper lights either cannot be used with CO2 or would need the purchase of several lights, which would result in a cost similar to or larger than the higher-end lights.

Please feel free to elaborate on your requirements; myself and the other members of this forum would be pleased to attempt to assist you.

## 1200 or 1800 watts for a 4X8 grow tent?

You are currently using an out-of-date web browser. It is possible that this or other websites will not show correctly. You need either upgrade your browser or switch to another one. Okay, so I’m getting ready to start my first indoor grow. I’ve already visited three local hydroponics stores, visited a million websites, and read Cervante’s bible from cover to cover. I know, I’m a typical rookie, but bear with me. I’ll start with a simple veg and flower tent (4x8x6.5 tall, \$189 plus shipping and tax) to see how things go.

1. Growing in the dark is no longer an option with the 100 percent reflective Mylar Hydroponics Grow Tent, Non Toxic Hydro Dark Room Box from Amazon.com “The GYO1011: Patio, Lawn, and Garden Hut is 96 inches by 48 inches by 78 inches.
2. I’m completely baffled.
3. Question 1: Should I use two 600-watt MH/HPS lights or three 600-watt MH/HPS lights for a 32-square-foot area?
4. I have some money put aside for my setup and am willing to add a third 600 watt power supply if absolutely necessary.
5. Question 2: Will I require air conditioning if I use two or three 600-watt bulbs in a mylar grow tent?
6. What do you think is the best course of action?
7. Question 3: I’m trying to decide between soil and hydro.

Please accept my heartfelt appreciation in advance.

Do you mean 4×8 if you’re talking about 8 feet tall?

If this is the case, two lights should be plenty, especially at 600 watts.

If you are going to use three lights, you may wish to use 400 watt bulbs.

The reading material is extensive, but if you put in the effort, you will save yourself a great deal of difficulty.

Reading the lumens and other such material is actually overkill for me at this point.

I’m curious as to what the temperature is in the basement.

Because if it’s too chilly, you should opt for an air-cooled light housing.

I settled on the Hydro gro because of the ease with which the nutrients could be mixed and the absence of mess.

Depending on how you put it up, I believe there is far less mess.

I’m not sure how many lumens are produced by each plant, though.

I feel that the plant will thrive with simply CFLs, and so, any HID bulb will, in my opinion, be a complete waste of time.

I wish I’d done it sooner.

Wishing you the best of luck!

My basement ranges in temperature from 55 degrees (winter low) to 75 degrees (summer high) (summer high).

In Colorado, we experience days with temperatures as low as -10 degrees and as high as 100 degrees.

The installation of a \$20 remote thermometer down there to keep track of the temperature is something I’m considering doing.

As a result, the formula is as follows: 250W HID illuminates a 2′ by 2′ area (200W min) 400W HID = 3′ x 3′ area of illumination (450W min) 600W HID = 3.5′ X 3.5′ illumination area (612.5W min) 1kW HID equals a 4′ by 4′ surface area (800W min) As a result, according to my estimates, you will require 1600 watts for your 4′ X 8′ space.

• I’m sure you could come up with a few other ways to do this.
• Some lights have a higher lumen output than others.
• However, 2500 lumens per plant is the bare minimum, and I am certain that you will keep well away from that.
• I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with once you’ve got everything set up.

• It will be less expensive with more light for that space, and in a chilly basement, you may be able to get away with simply cooling the lights.

It is simple to grow 30 plants, and it makes no difference whether they are grown in soil or under hydroponics. 2 600 watterswd. should be plenty for that foot print, especially given the fact that you may position them closer to the plants. It is necessary to set the 1000 wd at a high level.

Another point that I only lately realized was important. On Mondays, I also run 1K’s without the use of active air conditioning. As long as the mover is in place, you can pretty much let them grow into the lamp; but, when I install a blower on a 1K that does not have a mover, I have to keep around 16″ away. Not because of the heat (since the housing is cool), but because of the intense light wash. The intensity is concentrated in a single location. If you have a ceiling height of 7 feet, you’re good.

I’m looking for a base that puts out at least 20 watts per square foot. 40 is a fantastic age. Make use of CO2, it’s worth it. Light movers may be able to save you money on your power bill. 1k provides 31 watts per square foot of space. According to what I’ve read, movers boost efficiency by 40%. (I’m not sure whether that’s a reasonable expectation, but that’s what they say.) You get 43w sq/ft by multiplying 31w by 1.40. I’d just hang another 1000 on the wall. 1k provides 31 watts per square foot of space. According to what I’ve read, movers boost efficiency by 40%. Curiosity got the better of me.

Lumens are a bunch of nonsense, and they don’t signify anything. A 4×4 area is covered by 600 watts. It is entirely up to you whether or not you can deal with the heat buildup inside the tent.

## I have a 4×8 grow room . How many Plants do you recommend ?

This is what the interior of the room looks like. I have a total of 8 female seeds. If I wanted to grow 8 plants in this space, would I need to construct a grow tent or could I just utilize the entire room, lining the walls with mylar as a safety precaution? The cabinet measures 4×8 when measured from the end of the cabinet to the door. Grow tents, for example, make the most of your lighting, while rooms make the most of your plants, offering a variety of options for positioning and work space.

1. Walls do not require mylar, but a thin layer of plastic would enough to keep sprayed or splashed liquids away from the surface of the wall.
2. When it comes to performance, I have found that the mylar wall plants are neither better or worse than the killz white wood plants wall on the other side of the room.
3. Consider room controls, quality timers, the right power draw, cooling, dehumidifying, cooling, odor control, cooling, air movement, scrubbing, exchanging, and cooling as important considerations.
4. Have a good time.

## How Many LED Watts Are Required Per Square Foot of Grow Space?

This is what the interior of the room appears to be as. I have a total of 8 female seeds in my possession. What would you recommend I do if I wanted to grow 8 plants in this space: create a grow tent or just utilize the entire space, lining the walls with mylar, of course. The cabinet measures 4×8 when measured from one end to the other. Plant-friendly grow tents and rooms make the most of your lighting, while providing flexibility in terms of plant positioning and workspace. The decision between the two is a matter of personal preference.

Every plant in a room, especially those that are along a wall, gets my full attention.

Even though we’ve all been there, your query should be the least of your worries.

Using a tray of seedlings, the rest is up to nature.

### Grow variables

It is critical to note that the amount of actual watts that you will use for your grow will vary based on the following factors:

• Plants that require a lot of light, such as tomatoes, peppers, and other vegetables
• Plants that require little light, such as herbs and leafy greens (such as basil lettuce)
• There is a significant difference in the quantity of light required by seedlings, vegetative, and blooming plants.

### Watts per square foot

There are differences in the quantity of light required by seedlings, vegetative plants, and blooming plants.

### LED Wattage Chart Explanation

The wattages indicated below are based on the assumption that you are blooming your plants.

If you’re growing vegetables, you might want to consider reducing your wattage by 50% because vegging plants only require roughly half the amount of light that flowering plants do. As is always the case, following the manufacturer’s advice is the best course of action.

#### Using the charts

The following columns will be included in each of the charts:

• Plants to be cultivated in a certain area The area covered by a certain number of plants in terms of square footage
• The recommended LED wattage is based on the quantity of plants being grown in the given space.

## Wattage charts

For blooming, assume a wattage of around 32 watts per square foot (real LED wattage). Smaller yields may be associated with lower wattage, whereas bigger yields may be associated with higher wattage.

## Which LED lights for 4×8 Flowering Tent?

1. Date of joining: September 3, 2017 Messages:24 Likes Received:2 Hello, I was wondering what you would recommend for LED grow light setups when it comes to cannabis cultivation. I was planning on purchasing two Advanced Platinum LED P1200 lights, however the reviews state that they are not suitable for tents due to their weight. I was also considering if it would be excessive to purchase two given the space available in a 4×8 tent. When it comes to LED lights, which ones do you recommend for a 4×8 tent with an unlimited budget? The reviews I’ve read on the Platinum LED lights indicate that they have a high failure rate. If I had an unlimited budget, I would invest in a cob setup. Is there a specific amount of money you’d want to spend on a led? We can provide a recommendation. The fact that something costs more does not imply that it will perform better.

Date of joining: June 8, 2016 Messages:15,873 Likes Received:11,262 If you have no choice but to use platinums and you want to bud the entire 4×8 tent, I believe that four 600s are the ideal configuration for a nice spread on a little footprint. You may make them more evenly distributed and spaced further apart. A p1200 is identical to two p600s that have been taped together. In the same way that a p900 is made up of two p450s. Having said that, I’ve been using platinums in my floral area for the past two years without incident.

• Using decent potency, I’ve been able to achieve up to about.8 grams per watt, however technology in led grow lights has advanced really rapidly.

• I feel awful for criticizing them because they did provide me with some excellent cannabis, but times have changed.
