One last little requirement for would-be yurt owners is to successfully complete the insulating code challenge. I dispatched Rainier Project Manager Michael to Panama a few years ago to help with the installation of five yurts. We were completely unaware that he would be up in the mountains of a rain forest – and on the precipice of a cliff – until he arrived. He said that there were gusts gusting to 80 mph the whole time he was there. For the record, putting the roof and walls on a yurt is a nightmare when there are heavy winds involved!
