DLC purchased but not downloaded? : Borderlands 2 General Discussions

DARE, September 19, 2013 at 11:39 a.m. There’s no need to download these because they’re already included in the game. Exit both Borderlands 2 and Steam at once. Restart your computer, and if anything has to be downloaded in order for them to be activated on your account, it will be done at that time. You should be okay to go if you double-check in Fast Travel first. My Creature Slaughterdome and Premiere Club games are still shown as not downloaded, despite the fact that I’ve been using them since April with no issues.

The amit package should be installed automatically when you first start Steam, or shortly after you have purchased them.

Otherwise, you might try running a verify of the game files and seeing whether or not it helps.

I’m having the exact same problem with some DLC; I purchased BL2 GOTY Edition from Steam with all of the included packages, but the creature Slaughterdome still says Not Downloaded, and on a few others as well, as you demonstrate in your screenshots, it says Downloaded but not Installed or Completed.

  1. The quest that leads me to that location will be completed by me, and I will check whether dARE’s response is true.
  2. , I’ll make a note of it in the thread.
  3. Only the “main” DLC is required to be downloaded; stuff such as Slaughterdome and other minor DLC will never be downloaded.
  4. I’m baffled as to why this hasn’t been addressed already.
  5. Check out your local library.
  6. And if any of the main DLC fails to download, follow the steps outlined here: Restart Steam, and if you’re still not sure, check the game cache.
  7. Thank you as well to dARE and Zeromaveric for taking the time to answer to this; as a result, I am now extremely trigger happy;) thank you all very much!

Question:I realize that simply the words “Not downloaded” are incorrectly shown in this particular location.

Is it accurate that the slaughter dome cannot be reached via the rapid travel method?

If it’s supposed to be there, well, dammit.

Altough IT IS ON MY STEAM LIST, AND I HAVE PAID FOR IT WITH MY HARD-EARNED MONEY.

But.

Should it be included in the list of quick trips?

The DLC, on the other hand, is COMPLETELY MISSING.

The Creature Slaughterdome may be found around halfway through the Wildlife Explotation Reserve on the left side of the road.

Does it mean that if I buy it, the DLC won’t appear until I reach a certain point in the game?

The remainder appears when you create a new character (either with an item or cosmetic), or when you reach a fast travel station and go to the relevant map (see below) (mission or map content).

Isn’t it possible to create our own separate thread?

The following was originally submitted bynafz: Ok, I could use some assistance here – I have access to Oasis and little Tina’s.

When I click on them, the game quits to Steam and an error notice appears, which I am unable to see since the material on the website is blocking the message.

Having said that, the Rotgut Distillery is the setting for one of the headhunters that is not featured in the Game of the Year nomination.

If you wish to purchase them, it is simple enough to exit the game and go to the Steam shop, as purchasing them in-game might be difficult.

This page was last modified byz00t on August 22, 2018, at 8:38 a.m. I’m experiencing the same issue. version of GOTY that has been purchased but has not been downloaded:/ Please do not resurrect old threads; instead, start a new one.

How can I skip, or at least speed up, the DLC check in Borderlands 2?

Here’s my understanding of what happens (based on some inquiry and some educated guesses):

  1. It doesn’t appear to be downloading anything, and I have a feeling it isn’t conducting any online checks at all—at least not for a Borderlands game that has been loaded through Steam. This would make sense because Steam is already in charge of obtaining and updating the DLC files, so this would make sense. I’m not sure if this process is used to check your DLC on consoles, but it may be. During this time, it looks to be loading all DLC stuff in some way (I have the most of it, which is around 6.5GB). I’m not sure what it’s doing with the files, but it appears to be touching each one and taking more time than simply reading their contents would. With an SSD, this would be significantly faster (I can read all of the files in about 10 seconds, and only about 5 seconds once they’ve been read once and are cached in memory
  2. 6.5GB would take around a minute on an ordinary HDD, and maybe 2 minutes on a really old one)
  3. Even though I’ve uninstalled DLC through Steam, it doesn’t appear to have removed any content from the DLC directory! Weird. As a result, it does not appear to be speeding up
  4. Manually deleting DLC expedites the process, however also causes save files to become corrupt.

I’ll go into further depth. Firstly, I used opensnoopon macOS to see which files Borderlands 2 was accessing at what time, and it appears to spend approximately 30 seconds going through the various files in /Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Borderlands2.app/Contents/GameData/DLC/around the time where it says “Checking for downloadable content.” At the absolute least, it opens a large number (maybe all?) of those files, and it takes a long time to do so, so I’m very certain it’s loading them and doing something with the information.

  1. Second, I attempted to rename a directory included within the DLC directory (Aster).
  2. I also deleted the Aster directory from the DLC directory as a third step.
  3. Fourth, I deleted the whole DLC directory (and replaced it with an empty directory), and the game loaded nearly immediately.
  4. However, it did subsequently display an error message stating that my saved games were unplayable due to a lack of content!
  5. However, nothing was really removed from the DLC directory as a result of Steam’s actions.
  6. In other words, at the very least for a Steam installation (on macOS, though I imagine the same for Windows), it’s mostly surely simply reading the DLC files during this period, and a faster SSD and/or CPU/GPU will almost certainly be the best option to speed things up.
  7. Although not conclusive, it is conceivable that this step is needless cruft that was unintentionally included (and that it loads those files at a later stage), it does not appear to be verifying against a server that is operating slowly, or anything of the kind.

TL;DR: Install it on an SSD in a PC with plenty of processing power. Sorry.

Unable to enumerate Downloadable Content offerings

Despite the fact that I’ve installed and played Borderlands 2 on PC, I’m still baffled as to how to gain access to the presale stuff. I have a few of presale codes ready to go, but I haven’t figured out how to put them to use yet.

  • Borderlands 2 Premiere Club
  • Creature Slaughter Dome
  • Borderlands 2: The Prelude

Following a discussion with another player on the matter, I believe I should be able to find choices for these under the Downloadable Content menu within Borderlands 2, which can be reached through the Main Menu. However, after clicking on it, I am sent to a screen with the popup notice seen above. So my question is, what are the underlying reasons (as well as potential remedies) of this message? If utilizing the Steam interface instead, has anyone had any success in getting around this problem?

  8. Local Files may be accessed by selecting BL2- Properties- Local Files from the context menu.
  9. The material will be downloaded and will be shown as enabled in the DLC part of the main menu.

Confusion over DLC accessibility while offline

The fact that you’re playing on a console other than the one to which you initially downloaded the material might be causing complications; you may need to do a license transfer to the console you’re playing on in order for you to be allowed to play the content offline (may not be a viable option if you change consoles a lot, since you can only transfer once every 6 months) If you haven’t done, please do the following: Delete and re-download the material from your console’s cache, and then check that your game has the most recent TU (title update) by starting it up while connected to the internet, and that you have the compatibility pack installed.

Unfortunately, if you have no method to connect your console to the internet, even for a little period of time, you’re going to be out of luck when it comes to DLC issues and troubles.

I’m just curious as to how you’re getting in touch with Xbox Support.

Please don’t tell any lies.

Borderlands 2 DLC list in order of release

The fact that you’re playing on a console other than the one to which you initially downloaded the material might be causing problems; you may need to do a license transfer to the console you’re playing on in order for you to be allowed to play the content offline (may not be a viable option if you change consoles a lot, since you can only transfer once every 6 months) If you haven’t done so previously, please do the following.

Delete and re-download the material from your console’s cache, and then check that your game has the most recent TU (title update) by starting it up while connected to the internet, and that you have the compatibility pack installed as well.

Then you’ve come into a problem that is far worse than anything I’ve ever faced before!

If you do not have access to the Internet, you will not be able to play any of the Borderlands DLC.

What level should I be for Borderlands 2 DLC?

According to your current level and the mode you’re playing in (Normal mode or True Vault Hunter Mode), the campaign difficulty of Borderlands 2 DLC will vary significantly (TVHM). When using the standard mode, the values will range between 15 and 30, 30 to 35, or 30 to 38, respectively. Depending on the tale campaign pack you’re looking at, the answer will be different. Unless otherwise stated, TVHM mode opponents will scale up to level 50 in all but one of the packs. Once you begin a BL2 DLC, the level will remain at that point.

The level requirements in the game are there for a reason: to keep you in touch with the main plot arc and to ensure that you understand what is going on.

We recommend that you complete the main game before continuing on to the DLC, while this is not strictly necessary. Additionally, it is recommended that you play them in the sequence in which they were released.

How long is the Borderlands 2 DLC?

It is dependent on the situation. You can expect to gain around 20 hours of additional gaming time from simply completing the story missions contained within the campaign packs. After factoring in an additional hour for each of the five headhunter packs, you’re looking at a whopping 25 hours of more Borderlands 2 glories. If you want to play in full completionist mode and get the most out of the Borderlands 2 DLC packs, you may easily spend upwards of 12 hours on just one of them! As an added bonus, once you’ve finished with the Battlefield 2 DLCs, you may have some fun with gibbed codes and the Save Editor.

Where can I get Borderlands 2 DLC?

Users of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 may purchase all of the Borderlands 2 DLC through their respective storefronts. If you don’t need something right away, keep an eye out for sales. Do you have a computer? If you want to play Borderlands 2: Game of the Year edition, you can download it on Steam. You will receive 7 of the 8 DLC packs at once, saving you a significant amount of money in the process. Even if you already have the base game, purchasing them all together is preferable to purchasing them separately.

Additionally, if you have the necessary hardware, we recommend downloading the free ultra HD texture pack while you’re at it.

Free BL2 4K remastering is available.

This was the first DLC pack to be published, and it was called Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty. On October 16, 2012, more than a month after the game’s official debut, the DLC was released. The DLC takes an unexpected detour away from Borderlands 2 by including a pirate theme. despite the fact that there is no water in the game. Captain Scarlett is the central character of the DLC, as implied by its name. A scheming pirate on the prowl for a treasure that she knows she will never discover since she only has half of the components necessary to find it.

This is where you come in as a Vault Hunter.

  • True Vault Hunter Mode levels range from 30 to 50
  • Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC: $9.99/€9.99/£7.99

Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is the fourth story-based DLC pack for the game. On June 25, 2013, Borderlands 2 was officially released, which was around ten months after the first release of the game. This time, we’re going for the whole medieval fantasy experience. Dragons, dwarves, golems, knights, orcs, pixies, and wizards are among those who have been asked to attend. To put it simply, it is defined as a “game within another game.” This is not without good cause. Tiny Tina plays the Bunker Master in “Bunkers and Badasses,” a spoof of the famous tabletop role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons.

  • Another interesting feature is the Dice Chest, which contains up to two twenty-sided dice that may be used for rolling.
  • The first roll is complimentary; however, the second roll requires the payment of 5 Eridium rolls.

  • Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC: $14.99/€14.99/£11.99

Commander Lilith: The Fight for Sanctuary is the final and most likely final DLC pack to be released for Borderlands 2 in the near future. It was released on June 9, 2019, about six years after the last DLC, in order to build anticipation for the release of Borderlands 3. During this period, Colonel Hector, an ex-commander of a Dahl battalion, has taken over the city of Sanctuary and has obtained the Vault Key from the city’s vault. Now he plans to discharge a gas and destroy the entire planet Pandora.

  4. Remove yourself from Pearlescent.
  5. It was first provided free of charge.

Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. There are a total of 20 missions. There are seven narrative missions and thirteen side quests. This one will take you on a three-hour journey through the tale. This DLC is the shortest of all of them. With the extras, it will take around 6 hours.

Have you ever seen a colossal deadly turkey? NO? You’re going to be OK. The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler, which was released on November 26, 2013, is the second hunter pack in the series. This one has a distinct Thanksgiving flavor to it. Complete with a nice old grandma named Grandma Flexington – who happens to be Mr. Torgue’s grandmother — the whole package. That turkey we were talking about? It was all part of a marketing strategy to promote the Torgue Corporation that went horribly wrong.

This pack is also short and quick, consisting of a tale and a side task for each character.

When it comes to selecting the best video game for your PC, it’s not always enough to choose a game that will give hours of initial playtime. It’s possible that you’ll want more downloadable content (DLC). How do you tell which games will provide the most enjoyable experience? And what are the most popular options that are now available? In this post, you will learn more about the best DLC video games for the PC that are now available. Warning: Some of the video games featured here are not appropriate for children under the age of 18.

What is a DLC in gaming?

“DLC” is an abbreviation for “downloadable content.” It consists of any additional content that may be obtained for a previously purchased game, and it is made accessible as a digital download to customers. Extra levels, gear, playable characters, new planets, and alternative themes or skins are all possible additions to the game. These add-ons are referred to as DLC if they are available for download rather than having to purchase a separate physical disc in order to use them. The more large bits of material are almost as long as the game itself, and may last for hours on end.

In certain cases, they might be used to fill in the gaps between the release of sequels, while in others, they can be used to honor an anniversary or a significant corporate milestone.

As part of future product releases, several game producers sometimes include additional DLC material, which is sometimes referred to as “Game of the Year” or “Complete” editions.

What are the advantages of DLC games?

When it comes to value for money, downloadable DLC games are exceptional. The DLC packs provide you with fresh methods to play and new levels to reach even after you’ve completed the main game offering. It has the ability to breathe new life into a game you thought you had “beaten.” For many, the DLC provides more fun than the original game and may be considered equivalent to purchasing a second or even third game for a small additional fee. Why not simply purchase a new game? With a DLC, you may experience all of the features, moves, and skill level requirements that were there in the original game – just in more quantity.

Additionally, many of the most popular DLC games are surrounded by an active and growing community of players.

If a game includes multiplayer modes or competitive stages, adding more content implies providing more possibilities for players to engage with one another.

So yesterday I purchased the DLC season pass and I am quite sure that you have to download the actual DLC through the Downloadable Content section at the main menu.(Someone correct me if I’m wrong) Problem is, I can’t access that section. Anyone else on PS3 have this problem right now, or should I try deleting/reinstalling the latest patch, etc? Maybe it’s just down for a few days and I really do have to ‘try again later’, lol. This is the message I get:Can someone on PS3 check and see if they get that message as well? Any help is greatly appreciated.-MLongfellowDeedsgeneral

quoteCoi CkiJust download the DLC through the PS Store itself. That’s what I’ve done with each add-on. I have the Season Pass too, and just hit download in the Store. Not sure why you think you have to download them via the Store link in-game.I was not sure on that, I was reading around on other forums to find out and didn’t see that you could dl the DLCs through the PS Store. I assumed it could only be done in the Downloadable Content menu, and the season pass itself in both the PS Store and that menu. Thanks for your help! BTW, do you get that same message when you try to access that section?

And a UK game isn’t compatible with Australian DLCs unfortunately. I’ve had to buy an Australian copy of the game to fix it.

Ranking The Borderlands 2 DLC

Fans of the Borderlandsseries have had the opportunity to learn about much of the bizarre backstory that surrounds the planet of Pandora and its plethora of vibrant personalities. Our experience with this weird post-apocalyptic world has been varied, ranging from the mainline games to theTales from the Borderlandsside series and everything in between. And on September 13th, 2019, we’ll finally get the long-awaited third installment in the core series, which has been in development for several years.

This additional material has increased the amount of weaponry, personalities, and interesting locales available in this virtual toy box of crazy even more.

10The Horrible Hunger Of The Ravenous Wattle Gobbler (Headhunter Pack)

A great deal of the bizarre backstory of Pandora’s universe and its myriad colorful inhabitants has been revealed to readers who have enjoyed the Borderlands series. Our experience with this bizarre post-apocalyptic world has been varied, ranging from the mainstream games to theTales from the Borderlandsside series and more. We’ll also be getting the long-awaited third installment in the mainstream series on September 13th, 2019, after several years of anticipation. To keep us entertained while we wait, Gearbox has published many DLC packs, including the bite-sized Headhunter Packs and the newly releasedCommander Lilithadd-on, which has rekindled fan excitement.

In light of the above, let us return to the tumultuous realms of Pandora and sort out our rankings for each DLC pack.

9Sir Hammerlock Vs. The Son Of Crawmerax (Headhunter Pack)

Whenever BL2’s charming and affable Victorian-era explorer Sir Hammerlock is the main focus, you can be assured of an entertaining encounter. However, given the fact that this was the last DLC package of any kind for BL2 fans to enjoy, this tiny DLC leaves much to be desired. The task requires you to travel to sunny Wam Bam Island, but you rapidly discover that things are everything from sunshine and rainbows there, as you soon discover. If you want to save Hammerlock, you’ll have to run and gun your way across the island, dodging huge blue claws along the way.

The surroundings, which include a fantastic underwater dome, are beautiful to look at, and there are lots of chuckles to be enjoyed, but the material itself is largely uninteresting and uninspired.

8Mad Moxxi And The Wedding Day Massacre (Headhunter Pack)

A Valentine’s Day DLC pack with a Moxxi theme? We must be in for a wonderful time here, don’t you think? This is, to a large extent, correct. An endearingly ridiculous plot involves the lovely hostess attempting to marry two people from opposing gangs, creating a crazy BL2-style retelling of the classic play Romeo and Juliet, which is a delight to see. The game’s content includes funny objectives such as recovering infants, collecting love potions, and drinking Whiskey. The gameplay doesn’t provide many new features, instead depending on repurposing a variety of existing assets while relying on the absurd concept to carry the experience, which it normally does well in such situations.

7T.K. Baha’s Bloody Harvest (Headhunter Pack)

The first of the Headhunter Packs, a Halloween-themed escapade of gigantic proportions, turns out to be one of the strongest and most memorable of the series’ four installments. Despite the fact that the game’s material is limited (it only includes one big location and a number of missions), what does exist is rich and engaging. The Hallowed Hollow environment in this pack, which was launched in October 2013, is a horror-themed setting. When it comes to the side mission, the objectives are fairly normal fetch quest objectives, but the creepy opponents and gloomy locations contribute to make for an exciting encounter.

6How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day (Headhunter Pack)

This mini DLC flips the script on the previous Halloween-themed DLC by removing the grim elements entirely. The town of Gingerton, which is focused on the holidays and winter, takes the place of Bloody Harvestand. Marcus, your friendly arms dealer with a very thick Russian accent, is the star of this story, which follows him as he investigates the disappearance of a shipment of guns. Although most of the information is rehashed, the majority of the opponent designs are unique and interesting.

The missions are interesting, and the final monster confrontation will put your BL2skills to the test, but the payoff is well worth it all.

5Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt

While there isn’t much that this DLC pack does wrong, it also doesn’t accomplish much to distinguish itself from the crowd. The swamp and jungle biomes aren’t really interesting, and neither is the main plot, nor are many of the fetch quest-style side quests that are available. Despite this, there are a lot of redeeming features to the game that go beyond simply providing an additional 10 hours of playable time. You have encounters with some interesting new enemies, such as new huge bug species such as Marsh Drifters and terrifying mask-wearing Warriors, as well as some old favorites.

4Mr. Torgue’s Campaign Of Carnage

If you enjoy explosions in the style of Michael Bay, you’ll enjoy this DLC pack to the fullest extent. Mr. Togue, the main character of the game, is an overly-animated figure that resembles a roided-up version of Napoleon Dynamite’s Rex. This campaign is an all-around fantastic experience, thanks to some gratifying new weaponry, such as the KerBlaster, and the return of iconic characters, such as Tiny Tina and Mad Moxxi, among other things. There aren’t many intriguing locales, and the game is on the short side (about 8 hours).

This DLC embraces the over-the-top action and mad sensibility that BL2 relies on, despite the fact that majority of the game revolves around an arena setting, vehicles, and devastating weaponry as the core experience.

3Captain Scarlett And Her Pirate’s Booty

The first DLC pack for Black and White 2, which was published in October 2012, is also one of the best. Because this, like the most of the DLC content, takes place after Handsome Jack’s defeat, the turmoil and anarchy on Pandora has been entirely rekindled, with creatures, Bandits, and, of course, phantom Pirates running amok. There are some humorous pirate-themed adversaries and locales to keep things interesting during the story’s plodding progression. The game ends with a bang, though. And, while some of the enemies are simply classic kinds that have been re-skinned to seem like pirates, you’ll also encounter some new adversaries.

2Commander LilithThe Fight For Sanctuary

Many believe that thisCommander LilithDLC is a way for Gearbox to raise excitement for the long-awaited Borderlands 3 sequel. Nonetheless, this content is not simply another blatant BL3advertisement. After everything is said and done, the first DLC material to be published in 5 years is a fantastic package of additional content that further showcases one of BL2’s most interesting characters, the Siren Lilith. This add-on brings us back to the reasons why we fell in love with this crazy RPG shooter in the first place.

There’s also a great new adversary to face off against in Colonel Hector, as well as an intense and gigantic new raid monster to defeat.

And, sure, they are just as impressive in terms of performance as they are in terms of look.

1Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep

If you combined the mysticism of Skyrim with the zany, action-packed sensibilities of Black and White 2, you’d get this memorable DLC. In all seriousness, Tiny Tina is possibly the most interesting character in the already impressive pool of BL2 characters. You’re in for an epic DLC package if you make her the focal point of the experience and decorate the environment with imaginativeDungeons and Dragons-style themes. Despite the excitement surrounding the more modernLilithDLC many years later, this is still the most enjoyable add-on available.

Dragons, Wizards, and other amusing fantasy tropes will be your adversaries, and you’ll be treated to lush environments and innovative new concepts such as Eridium Shrines in your battles with them.
