Just finished a (very ugly) plastic laminate counter top replacement withsolid wood birch chop blockfrom Ikea.So far so good. Oiled the wood three times for protection from rings and stains. Will need to do so every six months or so. The material is easy to work with and comes in a depth that covers the extra wide cabinet base in my ’72 Overlander. The wood is 1 1/2″ thick giving the edge a nice solid surface look. We went ahead and replaced the cook top and sink as well for added countertop space.Very cost effective solution – countertops were $350 all in as a DIY project. On to the bathroom! Oh boy!_laugh.listen.respond.

Looks great AND looks like you got yourself a BIG increase in counter space. What brand is that two burner stove top?Ikea too?The single sink has a few disadvantages over two sinks, however, most dual RV sinks are too small and too shallow to wash a platter or a big skillet.Having only one sink, you tend to dry and put away the dishes, with two, it’s easy to put the drain pan in one and let the clean air dried dishes clutter up the look of the counter.Having only one drain pipe also enlarges the under the sink storage space.Very clean look overall. Are you planning to redo the fold down part with the wood too?Paula_Today is a gift, that’s why they call it the present.
