A buddy heater is another something I use. Finally, I recommend that you purchase a second tarp to use as a carpet for the interior of your home, regardless of what you choose as a foundation. When my tent has leaked, I haven’t noticed since the inner tarp has always been between me and the leaky part of it. It also makes cleanup a breeze – all you have to do is fold up the tarp, take it outside, and shake all of the dirt and pine needles out of there.

It occurred to me that I was looking at one of the smaller pop-ups in a camp near mine, and that I had more room in my 10×10 KC than they did in their pop-up.

For the past several years, I’ve been working as a partner in a junior gold mining firm, which means that we spend a lot of time out in no-land man’s seeking for ancient gold fields that may be developed. I had a pretty damned well-made 8-person nylon tent, but it didn’t hold up very well to the changes in weather, and the fiberglass tension poles were a real pain to deal with.

It took me quite some time to weigh the various forms of assembly, which included hydraulic systems, air ribbed, spring bar, and steel-poles in a few different versions, among other things.
Take a look at how many five-star ratings it has, for starters.
Despite the fact that I season it rather well, I didn’t have a garden hose, so I used a brand-new chemical sprayer filled with water instead.
When using an air conditioner, you must route the exhaust pipe out a window, and the heavy-duty zippers did an excellent job of keeping it in place.
However, because the two top air vents are insufficient, air is drawn into the tent through its walls, which helps to draw everything in a little more tightly.

It is possible to live in rough luxury if you put up your tent in the appropriate location. Try running your hands down the soft yet sturdy canvas and notice how different the feeling is from other tents that are solely constructed of scratchy, loud synthetic materials. It’s the tent to have if you’re going to be camping in sandstorms or dry, dusty conditions. Dust, mud, and sand are kept totally outside thanks to the strong fabric and big zipper flaps on the outside. This heavy-duty canvas tent is extremely impervious to items you wish to keep out, yet it is still breathable, similar to a cotton T-shirt in summer. Rain, on the other hand, is a problem. However, because the rear entrance is oriented somewhat upward, if you open it during a rainstorm, water would flow directly into the tent, whereas the awning gives some vestibule-like protection as you dive inside.
