Celebrate the Fourth of July in Muskegon County with festivals, car shows and fireworks

The city of Muskegon, Michigan, has a population of 50,000 people. In addition to a full weekend of activities, the Fourth of July celebrations will return to the Muskegon region this year. Here are some ideas for how to commemorate this year’s Independence Day. The WeDiscover Festival will be held in downtown Muskegon. The WeDiscover Festival, which takes place on July 4th, is the largest Fourth of July festival in Muskegon. Among the highlights of the free three-day event are a car show with exotic cars, an electronic dance music festival, food vendors, food trucks, art installations, and a fireworks display.

DNR – Park Rules

Pets are allowed in state parks, campsites, certain state park cabins, state forest campgrounds, non-designated bathing beach areas, most harbors, the majority of trails, and many boat launches with a 6-foot leash. Firewood

Hunting

All research activities conducted inside state parks, recreation areas, boating access sites, and rail trails are subject to the approval of the state parks and recreation department. It is not permissible to use fireworks.

Fishing

With the exception of Free Fishing Weekends, if you are over the age of 17, you are needed to have a fishing license in order to fish in the state. Purchase a fishing or hunting license if necessary.

The Burning Foot Beer Festival takes place at Pere Marquette Beach and continues from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Channel Park – RV (located in Margaret Elliot Drake Park) and Tent Campground (located near to the Burning Foot event grounds) are more options for camping.

General information and guidelines for campgrounds include the following:

Camping is only available on Saturdays. Check-in will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. When camping at a campsite, all campers are required to wear a camping wristband. Tent campsites will be provided with four camping wristbands, while RV/Trailer sites will be provided with six camping wristbands. At the entrance to each campground, there will be a check-in tent where you may register. Breakdown and check-out of all sites must be completed by 10-10:30 a.m. Sunday
It is OK for you to bring food and beverages to your campground. There will be no charcoal grills. There are no campfires permitted. Two fire pits in the manner of a community will be available in the tent camping area. Tent sites at Channel Park are approximately 20×20 feet, while RV/Trailer sites are around 18×30 feet. Some sites are far longer. If you have a large trailer at Channel Park, try to arrive early so that we can assist you with parking
Otherwise, All festival attendees must be over the age of 21 to be admitted. There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule. Pets are not permitted at the tent camping (due to the nature of the sand and the city park laws)
Please be kind to your neighbors (we have worked very hard to make this a joyful event, so please don’t be harsh! )
Don’t forget to take your garbage with you! You must leave your campground entirely clean and free of all rubbish and personal things before you may depart. If you bring it in, you must also bring it out. Please assist us in keeping the beach clean so that we can continue to provide camping services. We take our sustainability program seriously, and we would greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter.
