DIY Bed tent

My kid was turning three at the time, and I felt it was about time he got a big boy bed (he was big for his age and barely fit in his toddler bed). We had an old daybed that had been my husband’s when he was a boy, and I figured it wouldn’t be too difficult to transform it into a tent with a few simple modifications. I measured the height required at the apex, as well as the height required at the head and foot boards (for us not to hit our heads while tucking him in). It was beneficial to sketch a rough outline on the wall where it would be placed with white chalk (that later was easily wiped off).

How to Make a Bed Canopy

• 1 large embroidery hoop (I found mine at a thrift store for $1)
• Sheer curtains, or any fabric or tulle that strikes your fancy (mine were from Ikea’s As-is section for 99 cents)
• 1 large embroidery hoop (I found mine at a thrift store for $1)
• 1 large embroidery hoop (I found mine at 1 ceiling screw hook (which I purchased for less than a dollar at my local hardware shop as well)
• Ribbon in complementary color

Using your embroidery hoop (mine is painted from a previous project), start at step one. Yours won’t require painting because it will be covered by the cloth); unscrew and remove the inner circle from the outside circle Ribbon should be tied at three equal intervals around the inside circle. Your canopy will be suspended from the ceiling using this. Step 2: Using the outer circle of the embroidery hoop, simply begin threading your curtain through the casing that has been constructed to accommodate the curtain rod.

1. I used 2 and it seems to be the perfect amount.
2. Before you tighten the curtain all the way, ensure sure it is properly distributed around the hoop by adjusting it as necessary.
3. Fourth, drill a hole in the ceiling, screw in your ceiling screw hook, and hang your canopy from the hook with the ribbon you created in Step 3.
4. Your little princess is going to adore her canopy!
