How to draw a cartoon tent in campground (Camping Place) for kids

A tent is a type of shelter made of sheets of fabric or other material that are draped over, affixed to a frame of poles, or linked to a supporting rope to provide protection from the elements. While smaller tents may be free-standing or tethered to the ground, larger tents are often secured to the ground with guy ropes that are fastened to stakes or tent pegs to prevent them from blowing away. Tents, which were originally used as movable houses by nomadic peoples, are today more commonly used for recreational camping and as temporary shelters in a variety of settings.

It might be wonderful to get away from it all and enjoy some camping time in the great outdoors every now and then. If you intend to do so, a tent will prove to be the most valuable piece of equipment that you can carry along with you. This small home away from home may assist you in protecting yourself from the elements, wild animals, and even the fabled Bigfoot! While camping may be a lot of fun, it’s also a terrific opportunity to experiment with different tent designs.

Learning how to sketch a tent will be quite beneficial in this endeavor. Hopefully, this step-by-step instruction on how to design a tent will provide you with a great deal of enjoyment while doing exactly that!

How to Draw A Tent – Let’s Get Started!

In this first phase of our lesson on how to design a tent, we will be creating the top of the tent’s contour to serve as a starting point for your drawing. As seen in the reference image, the outline will be severely bent, and instead of a smooth line, it will have a few square forms scattered throughout it. These will indicate the locations where the tent is linked to the support poles and vice versa. Finally, there will be a tiny peg at the corner of each side of the tent to hold the canvas together.

Congratulations!

Step 2 –Draw another pole for the tent

In this first phase of our lesson on how to design a tent, we will be creating the top of the outline for your painting. Like in the reference image, the outline is severely bent, and instead of being a smooth line, it will have a few square forms scattered throughout it. These will indicate the locations where the tent is linked to the support poles of the structure. After that, there will be a tiny peg in each corner of the tent on each side. The only thing left to do is to move on from here.

Step 3 –Draw some more of the tent outline

In this third and last installment of our lesson on how to sketch a tent, we will continue to refine the tent’s overall outline. To create the sides, draw some smooth lines that are similar in shape to the more jagged lines that you used to create the poles previously. Last but not least, draw some more smooth lines to create the tent’s foundation before moving on to step 4.

Step 4 –Add some more detail to the tent

The finishing elements will be added to your tent drawing in the following few phases before it is colored in using colored pencils. Despite the fact that the specifics in this fourth stage will be straightforward, they will be really powerful. First, draw some additional straight lines around the base of the tent to give it some more shape. Afterwards, you may draw some more inside the tent’s tip, which you had previously drawn in a prior phase. After you’ve created these lines, you’ll be ready to add the finishing touches in the following phase, so let’s get started!

Step 5 –Now, you can add some final details for your tent drawing

The absence of a doorway would make the tent ineffective, so we’ll include one in this phase of our guide on how to draw a tent to make it more functional. You may use a circular line from near the base of the tent to design the contour of the tent’s shape. In order to depict the interior of the tent, you may draw some straight lines inside of the tent. Once you’ve completed these things, you’ll be ready to go on to the next phase! Before moving on, you might want to have a little fun with it by adding some of your own features.

Perhaps some forests in the backdrop, with a pleasant bonfire at the entry, would be appropriate for this scene.

What types of finishing touches do you want to put on your fantastic tent drawing?

Step 6 –Finish off your tent drawing with some color

During this last stage of your tent drawing, you will have the opportunity to have some fun by adding some wonderful colors to your painting. For our example, we filled it in with various hues of orange and blue, and while you could mimic this appearance, you could also use your own color schemes instead! A great variety of colors and designs are available for tents, so here is your chance to utilize your favorite patterns and colors to build the perfect tent for you and your loved ones. If you added any more features to your drawing, such as a backdrop or other camping accessories, you may have even more fun coloring them.

To get a more muted aesthetic, for example, you might use more subdued materials such as colored pencils or watercolors to create your masterpieces.

You might use colored markers or colorful pens to give your work a more vibrant appearance. No one method is required, and it may be quite effective to combine opposing colors and materials to create a picture that stands out from the crowd!

Your Tent Drawing is Complete!

Finally, you have reached the conclusion of this instruction on how to design a tent! You did an excellent job on this photograph, and you should be really pleased with the final outcome! Our goal with this instruction was to make creating this picture not only more easier, but also more enjoyable for the reader. Draw the Front of the Tent

Let’s draw a drawing of the tent’s front end now. It’s a good idea to write these parameters on the front of the tent for reference. Additionally, they come in helpful for drawing the rolled-up tent doors that are visible through the entrance in addition to framing the opening. Recall that door tie-backs hold the tent doors in place when you’re drawing your tent’s entrance and exit doors. That’s why there’s a kink in the tent’s bottom corner where the tie back meets the bottom corner. The mesh door of the tent is represented by the large circular oval form I’m painting right now.

Draw the Inside of the Tent

Begin by sketching the rear corner of the tent and the tent’s floor to get a sense of how the interior will look. Align the sides of the floor with the front and rear corners of the tent to create a straight line. Draw the mesh door on the other side of the tent so that it may be closed. Once you’ve done that, gently sketch a guideline for the opposite wall, which will act as part of the tent’s layout. Before I finished the interior of the tent, I realized there was a small feature I had overlooked when creating the exterior half of the tent.

Make a rough sketch of these stakes and the straps that will be pulled by and wrapped around the stakes immediately, if you would.

Now it’s time to return to the inside.

In order to be comfy and comfortable when camping, my wife and I carry along not just sleeping bags but also pillows, blankets, and/or other bedding items as well as other camping gear. So that’s what I’m going to sketch out here.

Add Details to the Tent

After a few hours of work, the tent’s outline is nearly complete. Let’s finish off with a few last touches before we go on to shading. Draw some lines to indicate folds or wrinkles on the tent’s outer surface or rain fly to represent the tent’s outer surface or rain fly. This will give our drawing an air of reality that we are looking for. Begin at the top of the front opening and work your way down. Using a pencil, draw lines that radiate out from the top of the tent entrance and into the tent’s frame.

Continue to draw similar lines between the poles on other areas of the rain fly, such as the remainder of the top and the sides of the tent, until you have finished.

Draw a horizontal line down the very bottom border of the mesh entrance on either side of the tent, which will function as a design element for the structure.

Complete the Drawing of the Tent

As soon as we have completed the line drawing of the tent, we can begin working on adding some shade to the design. You may see me walk you through my complete process of shading this tent step-by-step by clicking on the following link. And that’s how you make a tent, folks!

How to Draw a Tent?

Follow the instructions outlined below to learn how to draw a tent for your child. Step:1Draw a large curving slanting line from the top left corner of the page to the bottom right corner of the page. Step:2Draw another little slanting line on the other side of the paper from the first one. Both lines should now be in the shape of an inverted “v” curve. Create a second horizontal slanting line starting at the same location as the first one. Step:4Draw a parallel vertical slanting line parallel to the first drawn line from the end of the first drawn line.

  1. Step:5 Step:6Draw a tiny vertical straight line from the left end of the line to the right end of the line.
  2. Step 8: Join the two sides together.
  3. A straight horizontal line should be used to connect both vertical lines in Step 10.
  4. Step:12Draw three tiny and thick lines around the perimeter of the room.

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Draw a curved rectangle by connecting four curved lines together. This serves as one of the tent’s sides.

Step 2

Remove the bottom section of the shape and replace it with two curved lines to complete the transformation. Additional lines should be drawn down the middle of the rectangle. The method for tying down the tent is described in full here.

Step 3

Curved lines should be used to surround a rectangle below the tent’s front face. Draw another line parallel to the bottom of the rectangle across the top of the rectangle.

Step 4

Make four curving lines in front of the tent to serve as an outline. It should be in the shape of a home, with a triangle on top of a rectangle as the base. To the right of the object, draw a curved line parallel to the bottom.

Step 5

Use an overlapping sequence of circles to link the top of the tent’s front to the bottom of the tent’s backside. This shows that the fabric cover has been removed from the device.

Step 6

Draw a succession of shapes down one side of the tent’s front, starting at the top and working your way down. Start with a pair of parallel lines, then two “C” shaped lines and an expanded oval, then additional “C” shaped lines and another extended oval. Finish with a pair of parallel lines. Short lines should be drawn at the joints of the forms. This illustrates a canvas tent flap that is connected to a tent pole with a string.

Step 7

Using a pencil, sketch a succession of shapes along one side of the tent’s front. Start with a pair of parallel lines, followed by two “C” shaped lines and an expanded oval, followed by another pair of parallel lines and another extended oval. Form joints between the shapes by drawing tiny lines. This shows a canvas tent flap that has been fastened to a tent pole with a string.

Step 8

Pairs of parallel curves should be drawn extending from the points of the tent’s side panels. At the end of each cylinder, draw a miniature cylinder with a circle at the base of the cylinder. These are the tent ropes and tent pegs that are used to secure the tent to the ground.

Step 9

To finish the tent pin, draw curved lines from the front of the opposite side, ending with a cylinder to produce the finished tent pin.

Step 10

Fill in the blanks with color to make own cartoon tent. Tents used to only be available in brown and olive tarpaulins, but today, they are available in any color imaginable!
